Follower growth rate is (ending followers - starting followers) / starting followers x 100. Going from 10,000 to 12,500 followers is +25%. Enter your numbers below, then add dated checkpoints to spot unusual spikes.

A spike tells you where to look, not what happened. These are the patterns worth a closer look and the checks that separate a good week from a bought one.
| Pattern | Common innocent causes | Check next |
|---|---|---|
| One interval far above the rest, then flat | A viral reel, a feature, a giveaway, a big account's shoutout | Did views and engagement rise that week too? Is there a post that explains it? |
| Jump, then a partial drop soon after | A giveaway where entrants unfollow afterwards, or a platform cleanup | Ask the creator what happened and compare engagement before and after. |
| Steady, near-linear rise | Consistent posting, a recurring series, paid growth the creator discloses | Compare engagement per follower across the same window. |
| Audience grows but views and comments do not | Slower posting, algorithm changes, a shift in content | Audience location and age screenshots; run the fake follower checker. |
| Daily rate | 7 days | 30 days | 90 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.05% | 0.35% | 1.51% | 4.60% |
| 0.10% | 0.70% | 3.04% | 9.41% |
| 0.25% | 1.76% | 7.78% | 25.20% |
| 0.50% | 3.55% | 16.14% | 56.66% |
| 1.00% | 7.21% | 34.78% | 144.86% |
Pair this with the engagement rate calculator: real audiences tend to show up in comments and views, not only in the follower count.
We could not verify a primary-source benchmark we trust, so this page does not publish one. Published growth figures vary widely by platform, account size and how they are measured. A more useful test is whether growth is steady, matches the creator's posting activity, and comes with engagement that rises with it.
Subtract starting followers from ending followers, divide by the starting followers, and multiply by 100. Going from 10,000 to 12,500 followers is +2,500, or 25%. To compare periods of different length, convert to a per-day or compound daily rate, which this calculator shows alongside the simple percentage.
It can be benign, such as a viral post, a feature, a giveaway or a shoutout. It can also be purchased followers. A spike alone proves nothing. Look at what the creator posted that week, whether engagement and views rose with the audience, and whether the new followers came from the right countries.
No. It only shows when the audience changed unusually, so you know where to look. Pair it with engagement by followers, comment quality and audience location screenshots. A jump followed by flat engagement and a partial drop is worth asking the creator about, but ask before assuming.
Use the same window for every creator you compare, such as 30 or 90 days, ending on a recent date. Short windows swing on a single viral post, while long ones hide recent changes. The checkpoint box lets you enter several dates so you can see growth per interval, not just one overall number.

Total growth % = (end - start) / start x 100. Average gain per day = (end - start) / days. Simple daily rate = total growth % / days. Compound daily rate = (end / start)^(1 / days) - 1. The 30-day equivalent and projection use that same compound rate: (end / start)^(30 / days) - 1.
Spike check: for each pair of consecutive dated checkpoints, gain per day = change / days between. The median gain per day across all intervals is the baseline. An interval is flagged when its gain per day is at least the chosen multiple of that median (default 3x, an editable assumption) and the account gained followers. It needs at least three intervals and a positive median. A negative interval is labelled as lost followers.
A flag is a prompt to investigate, not proof of purchased followers. Not a verdict on any person or account.
